Field trip to the HAND OF MAN MUSEUM in Maple Bay. Admission is free (donations welcome). 12:30 lunch will be at the Lion Rampant Pub. 6777 Beaumont Avenue, Maple Bay.
Arrive at Hand of Man Museum at 10 am: 6759 Considine Ave, Maple Bay. If you have never been before, I can tell you this place barely has wall or floor space left. It is ram-jam packed with ‘THINGS’. Creatures, bones, animals, bugs, cloths, art, .. you name it, it is there. If you don’t know who or why this is set up, here is a brief… Jim Shockey was 10 when he decided he would one day open a museum. Known as the most accomplished big-game hunter of the modern era. As well is considered to be one of he foremost experts on Ethnocentric Folk Art of Western Canada who has had TV shows. He feels all people should have access to to all these incredible things he has collected through his travels. He had to buy the old school to accommodate everything he has. The museum is open everyday and he is often there.(Avoid photographing one area with signage saying not to photograph)
